MESSAGE FROM OWNER

If you see him, please do not approach. He is very timid and will run. He is an indoor only cat and is not used to being outside. He has only gotten out like this once before and is very tricky to catch. It would be easiest for my girlfriend and I to come and help trap him.

Quick update: Hobbes still hasn't been found. I was able to go over to my neighbors yard this evening and verify that he wasn't in the yard. There's a big open field behind our house. I may try there next. If there is anyone on this Facebook group that lives within 5 miles of the listed address, and has seen a cat that matches Hobbes' description, please reach out via this post. Thank you to everyone who is sharing advice.

Hi King Morris, I reached out to that company on IG and they recommended that I download their app and put up a posting for my cat. I'm hesitant to go through all of that. Can you share some more information about your experience with them? Did they charge you anything to set up an account? How were they able to help you find your pet? I am all for utilizing whatever technology I can to find him, but I'm skeptical of services that require setting up an account and paying... Etc.

Thank you Kelly, we've checked everywhere. There's very little room for him to hide in our back yard. When he gets out, he usually hides in the same 3 bushes and getting him back into the house usually amounts to us scaring him back and forth until he eventually runs into the open back door or garage door. This time though, he hopped the fence, which is very uncharacteristic for him. He is such a timid cat that he will rarely even climb on the couch. Anyways, I suspect that he is probably somewhere in the neighbors yard. They are not home this evening so I will probably need to check with them in the morning. I figured I would post here in case he made it a little further down the road. Not sure how many of my neighbors follow this page. I did put up signs around the neighborhood and put food out tonight. I'm hoping that will get him to come back to the yard. My only concern is that he may not jump the fence again without being forced to do so. He's a very anxious kitty so I don't know if food alone will be enough to entice him. Thank you for your comment. I'll post back here regularly until he is found. I appreciate all the help I can get!

Indoor cats usually hunker down and hide close by in your yard or your neighbor's yard. Look under everything like porches and bushes. Put out some smelly food. Keep posting every day!
