If he's not neutered or recently neutered, he's out chasing a female. Also another not so well known fact about cats, (not saying this is the case) but you should be aware: if ill without knowledge or their end is near, sometimes cats will leave their owners to die alone. Science says it's because cats are loners, my Spirit says it is because of their love for us, they don't want us to grieve.
