DESCRIPTION

Tabby cat, five years old, neutered. Has claws. Afraid of strangers. On Tue 25 June there was a coyote in the yard. On Wed 26 June my other cat found a spot she was really interested in, and there may be five tufts of grey fur on the ground there. She has not been seen or heard inside or outside on my property since 21 June. I feel quite certain that coyote caught her. RIP Yuki. I am so sad.

Post on Nextdoor, San Fernando Valley - SFV Lost and Found Pets and All Things Pets San Fernando Valley. A few more tips: If you havenā€™t yet, leave some articles of your unwashed clothing (socks, shoes, t-shirt, a pillowcase) outside for him/her to smell home. Change these out daily to keep the scent fresh. Never leave food or a litter box out, as this attracts coyotes/predators. >>If you can, starting tonight please leave a door or window (even a garage door) cracked open for him/her to return through, especially during the night when itā€™s quiet out and when cats are most active; this works well, but may take a few nights if they are in hiding. Leave the articles of clothing near the opening. It helps to leave some food out inside the home to help lure him/her in. Donā€™t give up - cats typically attempt to return home during the night/early morning hours (~1a-5a).<< Your cat is probably hiding nearby. Go out late at night w/ a flashlight and look for your catā€™s eyes. You can try shaking a treat bag if your cat normally responds to that. Check shrubs, under cars, crawl spaces, up in trees and on roof tops (in case your cat has been chased). If you see your cat outside, he/she may be too scared to come to you - sit quietly and have some tuna, Churu paste cat treats and even a wand-type toy to help lure them over to you. Have neighbors check their garages/sheds. Post signs around the neighborhood (even further out at intersections in case kitty has been chased out of the area), since some people are not on social media. *Beware of scam calls/texts/emails/messages that ask for a code - do not respond to them. Also, ignore all the commenters/scammers telling you to follow a link to a pet rescue/drone service on Instagram or a website- all scams that ask for money.* Check and notify surrounding animal shelters and leave flyers there - also, take flyers to vet offices/ER vets, where someone may take your cat for a chip scan. If microchipped, notify the chip company that your cat is missing. Update/verify contact info if needed. If you have motion sensing cameras, check them to see if kitty has returned to the yard. Best wishes and donā€™t give up.

Thank you for posting this. Posters are up and neighbors are notified. Since I cannot hear her inside or out, I am guessing she is either very hurt or not nearby. I do have coyotes and hawks and other predators. I am getting a new catdoor today that will let me set it to in only, but she is not fond of catdoors when it has door/screen instead of an unobstructed opening. But still a good thing, as she has used that opening there. I don't want to leave it open as my other 11-year old cat could wander out. Yuki is used to going outside but only during the day. I just feel so badly as she is scared not to be with me at night. Thanks for any help.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss Cat. Thereā€™s a website that is called some thing like how to find your kitty that will give you some chips but here are some of the highlights; posters posters posters everywhere for block area. Tape them to the sides of the mailboxes of your immediate neighbors and also donā€™t forget behind you. Be real clear with the information on the poster date last seen place last scene. continually check the shelters, and cross reference this site to see if anyone has found a cat that fits your cats description. They have filters to make it easier. If your cat is used to being inside they will not go far if itā€™s an indoor outdoor cat then increase your range of looking. Put your clothes outside your house with your scent on it to help your cat find his way home. If possible and there are no other animals inside when you are home keep a window or a door ajar so if your cat does find his way back home he can get inside your house. Donā€™t forget to look up I want could not find my cat because he had been chased 30 feet up into a tree probably by a coyote or a dog. Go out and call for your cat at predawn hours and at sunset when theyā€™re most active tell your neighbors to check the garage and sheds and crawlspaces volunteer to crawl into their crawlspaces if they are not blocked off. Also have them check their security camera footage as well as checking your own. You might want to invest in a trail cam and place it in a way so if he does wander back to your property but canā€™t get inside your house youā€™ll know heā€™s been there. If you have A cat door set it on in only so if he does come in he canā€™t get back out again. Thereā€™s also a company called Find My kitty.com that will do Robo calls for you for a small fee and will help you put posters up. When it rains go back and put more posters up if they come down go back and put more posters up the people you live around need to know that youā€™re not going to give up on this cat and keep it in the front of their minds. These are just some suggestions I pray you find your babyļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼ļæ¼
